There will be an exhibition of recent work by artist Luca Pancrazzi, including paintings as published in the recent book Stilllife (2009). Exhibition continues until 15 May 2010
Trolley author Nina Berman has been selected as one of the artists present at this year’s prestigious Whitney Biennial.
The work shown will be the 2006 photographic essay ‘Marine Wedding’, documenting the marriage of former US Marine sergeant Ty Ziegel, then twenty-four, to his high school sweetheart, Renee Kline, and its subsequent collapse in 2008.
Nina Berman’s work explores the effects and harsh realities of contemporary warfare, in particular of her own country the United States, engaging the viewer with intimate images that expose the consequences of war not normally favoured in the popular media.
She is the author of two books published by Trolley – Purple Hearts - Back from Iraq (2003) and Homeland (2008).
Boo Saville’s series of new paintings, produced using household bleach on black canvas, reveal the tones and depths of her subject, preserved human bodies, whilst incorporating new and ephermeral abstract forms.
