You Love Life

"You love life as much as we love death."This is the statement posted on a website sympathetic to the aims of Al-Qaeda after the Madrid bombings in 2003, which prompted Nick Waplington to pull together his photographic work of the past twenty years, from early adulthood to the birth of his first son. 'You Love Life' is made from the photographs that make up his life and art, drawing on a perspective from the world he lives in today.

"Art flies around truth, but with the definite intention of not getting burnt. Its capacity lies in finding in the dark void a place where the beam of light can be intensely caught, without this having been perceptible before". From Franz Kafka.

'You Love Life' is an exhibition of nine large-format C-prints selected by the artist from the book of the same name. It was launched as part of a special Photo-London evening of photography in the East End. Other photography shows were held at The Curator Space, The Counter Gallery, The Scout Gallery, Museum 52 and Mother advertising agency on the same evening. The Photo-London photographic fair was held in May 2005 at The Royal Academy, Burlington Gardens.

The book You Love Life is a limited edition of 1000 numbered and signed copies. The first 100 numbered volumes come with a limited edition print.
Artworks will be added shortly
