"Sorry I Gave Birth I Disappeared But Now I’m Back is my first book. I have never seen printing and editing before. It was like giving birth in many ways. And it feels like being naked and vulnerable again now that it’s out for preorders.
When we were at the printers Hannah Watson showed me the so called 'scarti': the scrap, the paper that is fed through the printing press to clean the drums of ink between print runs, usually thrown away as a by-product of the printing process. Trolley had previously published a book Scarti by Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin of the amazing scarti from their book Ghetto. I was similarly inspired and I immediately fell in love with the dreamy accidentality of the twice-printed sheets. I asked the printers to do it again and again. It reminded me of the chaos of the first few months. The fading memories and the mixed feelings. The uncertainty and the dreaminess of the rawness."
There are 30 limited edition scarti pre-orders and each one comes with a signed copy of the book and a unique scarti that you can pick (with a surprise other side).
